    The new CFE SBX lineup incorporates many improvements and features that were previousley unavailable including:
  • a symmetrical-intake-port version, "The SBX-Symmetrical" that favors two carburetors and allows the racing heads to be used on a standard small block with conventional lifter bore locations. This negates the need for custom blocks and special cam cores.(For more information on this version click here.
  • Both versions sport a greatly improved rocker bar platform, structurally engineered to handle abusive environments and increase valve train stability.
  • An extensive set of power proven intake and exhaust valve combinations have been added including a 2.250 by 1.600 arrangement for large bore applications.
  • The CFE SBX series of racing heads are available in either Pro or Sportsman trim, allowing the racer and/or engine builder to choose the price performance level that fits their racing program best. All CFE SBX racing heads regardless of trim level includes CFE's Signature application specific cnc porting, world class craftsmanship and industry leading port-to-port consistency.

CFE Little Chief Details:

The CFE Little Chief is basically a small block version of a big chief head. It requires a Little Chief cam core and a block with custom lifter bore locations. The intake port layout is asymmetrical. The symmetrical exhaust port layout eliminates the Siamese exhaust-port hot spot encountered with conventional SBC heads. Extra material cast onto the top of the CFE Little Chief makes for a stable rocker stand platform to eliminate flex, fatigue and ultimately failure seen from other castings exposed to today’s high spring pressures. An extra thick deck surface provides durability under high cylinder pressure and an excellent head gasket sealing surface.


    Little Chief Base Programs:

  • 11 degree normally aspirated (40cc combustion chambers)
  • 11 degree turbo specials (69cc )
  • 15 degree nitrous specials (68cc)
Note: finished combustion chamber size will vary depending on multiple factors such as bore diameter and valve dimensions.

    Little Chief Features:

  • CNC port programs available to suit a wide array of applications and displacements from 260 to over 480 cubic inches.
  • Choice of alloy or ductile iron seats
  • 11/32” guides come standard (5/16” are available upon request)
  • Up to 2.200” installed height for more lift!
  • Assembled heads come standard with titanium valves (severe duty steel available as an option)
  • Maximum intake valve diameter is 2.250” for large cubic inch or high RPM engines
  • Alloy valve guides are standard. Steel exhaust guides are available for nitrous and turbo heads.

    Little Chief Requirements:

  • The CFE Little Chief features its’ own exhaust flange pattern. Header flange plates are available from Specialty Product Design (SPD)
  • The CFE Little Chief uses a splayed valve Chevy valve cover available from various aftermarket sources.
  • Cast & Fabricated intake manifolds are available from CFE
  • Rocker arm kits are available from Jesel
